The childfree email discussion list provides information, discussion, a supportive environment, and a place to blow off steam for those who have actively chosen to be childfree. We also welcome those who are in the process of choosing, or those who have been been forced to remain, for various reasons, childfree.

WARNING: Anti-child or anti-parent sentiments are sometimes expressed on this list; if this offends you, please don't subscribe.

Typical discussions include battling family expectations and societal pressures such as giving our parents grandchildren, the myths and realities of "biological clocks," the prejudices, questions, and general nosiness that we who choose to remain childfree have to face in this kids-oriented society, and often just outright complaining and grumbling.

Infertile couples who have chosen, or wish to explore, the childfree lifestyle are welcome, but this is not a place for infertile couples who are trying to get pregnant.

Individuals of all sexual persuasions and races may be found here too. Slurs against any ethnic group, sexual orientation, gender, etc. will NOT be tolerated and are grounds for immediate expulsion from the list.

As a member of this list, you are expected to respect the confidentiality of the other list members and be reasonably supportive of those members. No flaming, excessive sarcasm or personal attacks. This is a private email list and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

ANYONE WHO FLAMES OTHERS FOR BEING CHILDFREE BY CHOICE WILL BE BARRED FROM THE LIST. This is not a place for debate, it's a place for support. Many of us have been on the list for years and consider one another an extended "family." Like family, we support each other through life's ups and downs and we occasionally have disagreements. However, threats to our little haven will result in excommunication.
